tour overview

This trip is ideal for lovers of wildlife and nature. Come and search for snow leopard and Altai Ibex in the wild!

The Mongol Altai Range has many peaks reaching 4000 meters above sea level and stretches for almost 1000 km from the north-western part of the country to the south and over 20 peaks are capped with eternal snow in the range. The tallest of these, Khuiten Uul, is the highest mountain in Mongolia, at 4,369m (about 14,300 feet).

Despite its remote location, the park and its beautiful scenery make it the premier attraction in western Mongolia. Divided from China by a high wall of snow-capped peaks, the area is a trekker’s paradise.

Four of the peaks require mountaineering equipment and experience climbers, though the shortest, Malchin Uul (“Herder Peak”) at 4025 M, can be hiked by novices. Near the mountains it is possible to hike Pontanin Glacier.

Khoton lake is fed by more than 10 rivers and the average depth is 26 m, the maximum depth is approximately 58 metres. The landscape around the lakes is stunning: with forests and the snow-capped Altai Mountains.

Khoit Tsenkher cave, the longest cave of the Mongol Altai mountain chain. The cave is formed in the limestone of the Proterozoic period. This cave is located 25 km southwest of Mankhan sum Khovd province, at 47°20'50.5" N and 91°57'24.1" E. Khoit Tsenkher cave has two branches. The main passage is 130m and 90m.Khoit Tsenkher cave is famous rock paintings. Rock paintings of the Khoit Tsenkher cave date back to the Upper Palaeolithic period (20,000-15, 000 years ago).

Stunning natural landscapes and friendly nomadic people - this really is the essence of Mongolia.
